Wisconsin | Cellulose slows the air down more than fiberglass, not as important if you have a tightly built ceiling like you should these days, but it made a big difference in old houses with lath and plaster and not enough attention to air sealing. Fiberglass loses more R value in colder temps than cellulose. Cellulose can start fires with the wrong recessed lights, but is far better overall in fire performance. Cellulose has some moisture buffering capacity, but if it gets saturated it will compact, while fiberglass won't hold water, just let it flow through. Either one can blow away from the soffits in a windstorm. Both are much easier to install tightly than batts.
