Subject: RE: Help needed with a downer beef cow

West Central IA
I had a cow like that 30 years ago. Had a late may calf so it was hot out. Made a sling out of an old tire to lift her. I put her under a tree so she had shade. Carried feed and water for at least a month. She would move around some. One day my little brother stopped and he went down to the tree to see her. I have never seen a cow soo pissed off at someone. She got up and tried to run him down. I was able to put some gain on her and get her to the sale barn. Now days I would give your cow aspirin in her feed. At least 6 night and morning. Aspirin is cheap and there is no withdrawal. I have had cows over the years that have greatly benefited from some pain relief when they have a foot issue or something else that causes pain. Aspirin also helps to reduce swelling and increases circulation. Best of luck.
