If you can get your hands on a JD Tech manual, the procedure for rolling the piston is explained. Also a picture of the special tool required for easy repair. Any tech manual will work, 4030 thru 4960. Only difference is larger tractors use two steering rack pistons. Next time use a repair manual going in and you will NOT have to do it twice. If that spring is kinked, replace it. Polish up the pin. Hope this helps.
