The lenders and vendors are as much to blame for this quandary.  How many of you have ever saw an operation and knew they were heading for financial trouble with the way they were operating?  Shouldn't a bank or vendor have an even better idea if they do their due diligence before extending credit?  Would you rent your farm out to someone without being assured you would be paid?

I mention this about every time this subject comes up OPM Other people's money.

If you work for _______ large input supplier/lender and can land one of these big fish, you are in for a hell of a bonus. You see this even more often when someone has a foot out the door to begin with.

If it's a tin shed retailer with 2 employees they probably wouldn't extend credit, if it's company with 5000 employees they'll get an award and aren't expected to do any collections since someone in the big city where they are headquarters is does that.
