A few tried it around here, southern Illinois, and went back to yellow corn in short order. Only one buyer (chip company) who set the price and all the extra profit was lost in trucking. Same happened with popcorn and sunflowers.
Do you remember what premiums they were offering? Here, it varies year to year. This year they were offering roughly a dollar over yellow for GMO white, another 25 cents for non-GMO white. |
