have planted a lot of corn that had real cold rain right after planting, then temps so cold that the ground froze right down to the seed. I have never seen any seed germ death because of this, and it usually looks bad.

better than waiting for a two week rainy period to dry up then hurrying to get a hail mary planting job done in the mud.
