You are exactly right on the App Rate Module for painting and logging area. I would put the module in the cab, and put the lift switch on the implements, then it's easier to swap from one to another.
The only thing I'm not sure about in that respect is if it will let you create multiple implements/configurations with the same App Rate module.
I'm looking into your question on the drill.
