Subject: RE: Planting Pickles

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The vinegar part reminded me of yet another story. A rather slow local asked a farm kid what they planted on their farm. Back in those days, it would have been corn, soybeans, some small grain or hay. The farm kid told the local that they planted corn, soybeans and peanuts. Since this was in Minnesota, peanuts are a bit out of the question which the local should have known.

Anyway the local said "Oh I like peanuts, how do you plant them". The farm kid says we just put the peanuts in the boxes where the corn or soybeans would go and then fill up the herbicide boxes with salt. "Salt?" said the local. Well yes, said the farm kid, "How do you think you get salted in the shell peanuts?"
