I read something the other day that talked about IL sales tax, which is 6.25% It said 5% went directly to the state. Of the remainder, some went straight to the city of Chicago, which kinda ticks me off. And some went to a couple transportation districts. And I believe a little went back to the communities. May want to verify the numbers.
