SW Ontario | There are several Brazilian steakhouses on the Canadian side that are phenomenal eats. One is the Brasa steakhouse which I believe is at the Hilton and the other is just up the street called Copocabana. Not cheap but they're very good. If you're into war history there is a bunch of trails and forts scattered throughout the area. Fort George is one, as well as the Brock memorial which are both related to the war of 1812 between the USA and Canada. Personally, I'd stay at Niagara on the Lake, it's much quieter and lots of good restaurants. Tons of wineries in the area that cater to wine tasting and tourists. The falls is only a few miles up the road and personally I find the falls is crammed with the touristy crap and packed with people with selfie sticks. The view is nice for a few hours but casinos and tourist traps don't interest me. Another point of interest is the Welland canal, there is a museum located at lock 3 that has many interesting artifacts covering a wide variety of topics. Might be worth looking into. Feel free to email for more information I don't live too far away and spent alot of time down there as a kid. | |
