Subject: Is your entire identity a hard working farmer?

Back about 30 years ago a well off area farmer retired from farming and started taking vacations.A bunch of other 60-70 year olds constantly criticized him for quitting. They would sit on their behinds in the co-op and brag or whine about how hard they worked,,,,some of these guys spent every day during the winter in their shops but did less than a real mechanic would do in a single day,,,yet they called the guy that relaxed in the warm sun in Arizona lazy.
There is an old saying
Fill a bucket with water
put your hand in to the wrist
pull it out and the hole that remains
is how much you will be missed'
If you regularly complain about any aspect of farming then quit,,no one will miss you,you could be the best farmer in your town but 20 miles away they never heard of you..
