west-byGod-Pa. | Whose insurance is covering whose injury? IF a driver is “ signed-in on LYFT or Uber, & gets in an accident, LYFT or Uber are the main insurers. The driver’s policy MUST contain the “ rider” as required by LYFT or Uber. IF the driver provides a ride”off the books”, there is NO insurance coverage for injuries: his insurer will NOT cover, saying “ you were supposed to be signed-in”. An attempt by the driver to “ I was just helping the rider” will NOT be accepted by his insurance company. His insurance company will NOT accept responsibility to pay medical bills for a rider because that is “ supposed “ to be the responsibility of LYFT or Uber. Uber’s insurance is provided by Farmer’s-commercial. The companies even warn drivers not to give rides “ off the books” . They just don’t tell drivers why: I found out. | |
