I live on a rez where Indian tacos are a way of life.
The secret by far is in the frybread and how good it is.
The fixings put on the Indian taco are not any different from a regular taco:
Flavored meat
Lettuce
Onionsif they topo if they also were served
Tomatoes
Sour cream
Tabasco
Salsa
You get all that on there and they're not the easiest thing to eat neatly.
The Indian lady/ Tribal member/ Native American friend who prepared Indian tacos for us does her meat filling different than others. Her fried bread is better too. I just wanted to mention this in case others may have had a not so great first impression or experience like I did from being served a bad example of Indian Tacos at a church dinner. I never complained about those, just thought man those are something I don't want ever again. But our friend proved that we had not yet tried a good representation of how delicious a good Indian taco really is. |
