EC SoDak | What one needs to keep in mind is most years we have a carry market. So, even if you hedge a year or handful of months ahead vs waiting until the next winter/spring/summer that may offer the same price, you still probably left a bit of carry on the table by not hedging early and then rolling to collect the carry.
I think 2020-2022 and the memory of 2012 has made folks get trigger shy.
