Storage cost money. For me its easy market a good chunk for delivery in the fall. Most places throw out bids for new crop around september or november of the previous year. You have a year to sell the crop and deliver that november. If the market goes up then capture it on the next years crop instead of paying storage by speculating. Thats my .02 but I am no marketing guru. Post harvest selling has the advantage that you know the exact bu you have vs pre crop you sell what you are comforatble with with your APH.
