Hennepin, IL | Yup common misconception. IH by definition wasn't even broke at the time. For example their finance division was actually making decent money. Problem was they were hemorrhaging money at the time and were down to basically 2 bad options. Sell everything but the ag division which was arguably hemorrhaging the most money and had the bleakest outlook, or sell the ag division and keep the trucks and engines and live on as a company. The IH brand went with the ag division obviously to make the deal happen. | |
