Hennepin, IL | GM filed chapter 11 in 2009 too. I'd agree though, I don't see the major manufacturers as exposed to the ag economy as the big 3 were exposed to the general economy back then. The one big wild card to that statement though is their financing divisions. Vendor financing is one big black box so the general public won't know there's a problem until it's a really big problem.
Side note, was there actually a major manufacturer that filed BK in the 80s? Every one I can think of was a merger or complete buyout. | |
