south east SD | We’ve had a roller for 15 years.
We do it every year every acre after we plant to level out the field for the combine. Really see less dust in the trucks and bins.
We have done the rolling before the planter ( impatient kid ).
Rolled after they were up for ourselves and a costumer and it worked fine.
2 years ago our roller tractor went down. Finished with a 9570RT for ourselves and a costumer, everything turned out great.
Rollers can cause corn stalks to blow. Especially on corn that was combined with a chopping head, that stuff can blow. We run a high speed disk fall and spring and do not use a chopping head and have very minimal trash blowing around.
You will like it.
