east central ND | Time is coming to pay the sf3 subscription. I’ll probably just pay for another year. But, as others have started to ask questions about private rtk, I will too.
I have done some reading on other, smaller brand differential signals. Might work, might be cost effective. Long term, I don’t know.
I only have 1 6000 receiver that I pay the subscription to sf3 on. That receiver plants, sprays, and is in the combine in fall. So I would have to purchase another receiver for a base station, radios, and activations. No cors network that I know of in ND.
Todays big question:
What is the range of Deere rtk radios on a private network?
My land is close by, slight slope with very few depressions. It’s 3 miles to furthest corner of the feilds, but lots of trees, including tall cottonwood groves. I could conveniently get the base antenna up about 35’ in the yard, but again, many, many, shelter belts on my ground. I one direction from farm, the signal would have to go through as many as 7 tree belts that are 50 to 70 foot tall.
