Well that is partly why it has worked so good the last couple springs. Later springs actually make it easier. But in all honesty if a light tillage pass is done shortly before planting, It stays pretty darn clean for 2-3 weeks. Goal is to always be done planting not much after may 10th. Obviously have to adjust the plan with the spring. If kochia is coming usually they are small enough where a tillage pass will knock them out, and don’t have to worry about them for some time…..are you doing any tillage ahead of planting?

Harness and oil does an amazing job at taking down small pigeon grass, or even yellow foxtail for that matter. 2 inch or less. Better off to let some of it come than go out there may 10th with a pre when everything is clean from a tillage pass a week prior.

No till changes the strategy a bit.

I was in the camp on chasing the planter with the sprayer and throwing roundup in on every acre before corn was up. Not so much anymore. Got to noticing a pattern and every field I would have to respray had the early pre.
