BLKCOW - 2/11/2024 06:05 Have no idea who the guy is but the statements are basically accurate. In much of the country beef cows were part of a diversified operation, something that is going the way of the Dodo bird just as farmer-feeders have done and hogs. Too much labor for many compared to working six or seven months a year. Big cow sale in Ogallaha yesterday with a number of dispersions and some selling the most productive ages, all a sign that despite record prices, cows don't pay the inflated bills. Same with heifer retention.

The inflated bills are mostly because of govt intervention/meddling (CRP, Subsidized Crop Ins, Climate Change BS, artificially low interest rates, govt handouts/runaway inflation, etc).

The answer to too much govt isn't more govt like he's asking for.    Every time the govt tries to solve a problem they create 2 new problems to replace the original.
