MO, increase the size of the spring group. sell half in the fall and back ground the rest.
I have no idea the number of head your talking.
my preference would be to have only One calving season. Why double the stress.
Give the bulls a rest. If the only goal is to utilize the Bulls, buy more bulls.



Calving season for me is mainly just me riding around on my 4 wheeler with a lariat, my tagger and some beer. Definitely don't have anything that resembles or could resemble a calving barn so i don't even try the whole winter calving thing for me it would be a disaster. That being said the guys calving right now that usually deal with cold/wet/mud are definitely getting a welcome relief with the dry warm weather this year.

I bought some 2nd period cows a little over a year ago that calved a bit early in first couple weeks of march and was definitely not a fan of that life. Would i get bigger calves if i calved earlier and they were peak lactation when fescue/cool season grass was peak? Possibly. But i'm just not setup for that kind of thing labor/building wise so i'm not going to try it.
