MO, increase the size of the spring group. sell half in the fall and back ground the rest.
I have no idea the number of head your talking.
my preference would be to have only One calving season. Why double the stress.
Give the bulls a rest. If the only goal is to utilize the Bulls, buy more bulls.



Sorry - -- bulls breeding for 6 to 8 weeks and they need to rest for 10 months?

Dunno what kind of world you live in but if I could having 2 groups makes sense.

Part of the trick - - - here at least - - - is getting the cows to milk reasonably well AND cheaply through that crucial Dec to Feb time.
(this year was a bit unusual as I had animals on pasture until late Nov - - - likely could have even grazed longer - - - but that's NOT a 7 to 8 years out of 10 thing!)
