Subject: Hammer Mill for Corn Processing

I was wondering if anyone has any experience running a 3/8”-1/2” inch (or slightly smaller) screen on a hammer mill for feed corn. I was wondering if you get more of a cracked corn product as opposed to a fine ground corn. Currently using a crimper mill that is old and inefficient, but want to keep the larger particle size. Feeding 1-2 tons a day to feeder beef cattle so a hammer mill would be way more efficient. Any input would be helpful.
