Floyd County, Iowa
For 1 person, a 4tb should last you a lifetime of just data, add movies/videos, not so much.
.
I'm betting every back up was to a new folder.
They are probably dated the day you did the backup.
You can probably go in with file explorer and delete some of the oldest backups.
.
I think you need to check your setting on your backup program.
Find out exactly what it backs up and where.
.
.
Now, on a side note, with hard drives so cheap, One backup drive is not enough.
.
Example, just recently at work, we had 2 different computer hard drives fail.
Before I opened them up, I was like "yep, hard drives fail all the time, no problem."
What I didn't know, was both hard drives were SSD(Solid State Drives), you know, no moving parts.
They are not supposed to fail.
.
Heck, here at home I have the main drive, and then 3 different backup drives. Their only purpose is backup.
Save yourself a headache later, because EVERY drive will fail eventually.
Buy another drive. Keep it in a fire safe, and back it up at least weekly.
.
Have a good day
