West Central IA | You have off farm income. That is a huge +. I worked off farm for 20 years. Now just farm owned and some family land. I have a lot of my home place seeded down. Make hay all summer and feed 50 cows and calves over the winter. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing. They don't pay your bills. When hay is selling for 200 per ton, corn and beans do not compete with that. Not even close. Keep your cow herd the same and if you can find an outlet for your extra hay you are money ahead. | |
