NE IL | It seems like horse people are open to buying round bales now more than 5 or 10 years ago. But most of them like how easy it is to just feed a few flakes of a small square bale. They’re very easy to sell around here. A lot of acreage people with animals on 10 acres and few horse racing people still around even though the local racetrack closed a decade ago. You can make more money baling small squares than round bales. It just takes more physical work to throw bales into peoples pickup trucks or onto their trailers. We use an accumulator in the field. | |
