Missouri

Definitely qualifies as line breeding. So his mother and the sire's mother are the same cow? If the bull didn't show any signs of regression, we're left to assume he concentrated most of the good and little of the bad, or the two parents weren't as related at the genetic level as we would naturally assume they are. Hopefully, he concentrated all of the good and will inject the cow's traits into the progeny at a much higher rate than purchasing her traits in a more diluted form.

If the genetics companies would let us see the actual markers, or let us pay someone to translate them for us, we could better predict the concentration levels before we made tight matings.

I'm several years into recreating animals and finally getting to the point of carrying out a 3/4 sib x 3/4 sib project that I should share. Unfortunately, the first egg didn't stick so I'm stuck wondering what these things are even going to look like.
