Subject: Corn Syrup Storage

NW Iowa
I have procured a 1200 gallon poly tank to store corn syrup from the local ethanol plant in. I was going to set in in the back corner of my ground hay shed and bury it with ground cornstalks to keep it insulated. Anyone ever done this ?

I'm trying to keep it from freezing up. I have had IBC totes of syrup freeze up in sub zero temps before. I do not have the means to do an underground tank so that is not an option. I do not have any heated shed space available either. I was thinking of sandwiching a heated mat under between tank and foam board insulation on the concrete floor of ground hay shed.

Any tips/ideas appreciated
