Until you test all of them you really have no idea. See my original point above. BLV is a very insidious disease. You at least don’t want to be spreading it. Most dairy herds at least, have levels of infection that make it unlikely to be a viable option to test and cull all positives. Beef herds maybe in the same boat. The actual noticeable cost each year is normally low enough that it won’t sink an operation.
