| As a guy that’s usually buying cattle at the weights that you are talking about selling these at, I wouldn’t even consider buying them if they’ve been backgrounded in a confinement. Backgrounding needs to be done out in the open where calves can get exercise and grow up. Calves coming out of a confinement will be hard to keep green enough for the next owner. Calves can be fed in a confinement from birth if that’s your choice and I do some do that myself, but I feed them all the way. If backgrounding is your main goal I think you need to look into different facilities. | |
