I wish that was true. We had a heifer in the feedlot that dislocated a shoulder this past year. We had an appointment at the slaughterhouse, but it was a ways off and no room in the freezer yet anyway. We kept feeding her until the appointment came up, but we'll be eating some pretty tough and tasteless meat for a while. She got pushed around and lost a lot of fat. I had a bad feeling that meat wasn't going to be the best and unfortunately I was right.
