That’s very expensive. But rural cooperative electric companies are mostly poorly managed and have bloated payrolls.

Out of curiosity, how deep is the water and drawdown where you are pumping?

I’m pumping 960gpm off a 75hp vertical hollow shaft right by my farmstead. Works out to $3,75 for electric alone. That’s probably my lowest cost per acre inch although a lot of my wells will do more in terms of GPM.

About to switch to natty and it’s going to be about 50% of the cost of electric.
