Iowa | My response is always something along the lines of how much safer most of the chemicals are now vs the 80's. There were numerous rumors of the first Roundup salesman in the area purposely drinking it to show it was safe compared to others. I was watching an old 1980's university extension video a year or so ago on no-till. Every chemical they "recommended" at the time except one has been banned at this point. The video shows them out there spraying it with pull sprayers and open station tractors...
I farm, I also do a decent amount of welding, do my own equipment and auto maintenance, occasionally rebuild engines, and do some home remodeling. I take precautions, but I won't be surprised if I ever get cancer based on the shear amount of things I've been exposed to even wearing PPE...
