Subject: What strip till unit am I looking for?

WI
I am having fits making fall strips the last few years. When I can get the strips made, it’s wonderful. So I’m still trying to make this work. I have tried both Redball shank units and Dawn Pluribus coulter units.

Redball issues:
•Front gauge wheels slide on damp residue and plug up
•Lead coulter between the gauge wheels push residue

Redball benefits:
•Huge awesome wide shank strip. It plants beautifully in the spring.

Dawn issues:
•Finger row cleaners plug in bean and corn residue
•Front wavy counter can push rather than slice
•Coulter strip isn’t great in fall stalks

Dawn benefits:
•Low power & fast
•Forgiving on soil conditions when residue will flow

What I’m looking for:
•no front gauge wheels; hold depth with toolbar?
•Row cleaners that are drawn rather than pushed
•Big diameter lead coulter, if a coulter is necessary

I can deal with a smaller shank machine due to power requirements if it can run more than 3 hours per day. Right now, I’m finding strip tilling more temperamental than cutting beans in regards to the weather. It has to be sunny & windy or it’s a no go!

Any input?
Thanks
