Subject: RE: Feeding 50 Feeder Cattle

Alpena MI
We are currently feeding whole dry shell corn and a 36% no UREA protein pellet. The feed mill mixes it and brings it out and in the bin it goes, then I feed it out with a wheelbarrow for the 20 head we are currently feeding. Our nutritionist is a big fan of this ration, but I'm not at all sure that it is the cheapest COG by the time we get our corn dried and delivered back out to us. The other side the equation with that ration is the fact that the only cash outlay is for the pellet and drying and handling the corn, besides our cost to raise the corn, but we have the cost to raise the corn with any ration.
