Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I thought I'd try my old approach again this morning. I took a picture in my home office with my iPhone 8.
I then plugged the iPhone 8 into my Win 10 office computer using a data/charge cable. I then used Explorer on the office computer to look for the iPhone. It appeared. I looked in its internal memory folder, inside it was the DCIM folder, inside it were a few more subfolders. One had today's date. Inside it was the jpeg picture that I had just taken. The screen appeared as shown below: The office computer clearly shows the picture I had just taken but refuses to allow me to manipulate it. It complains about the format.
You may ask how did I get this picture here. I took another picture of the my computer screen and emailed it to myself, downloaded it so I could post it here.
I'm thinking that the problem may be with the "photos App" on the PC. Maybe I was using something different in the past.
