SW Ohio | I assume the rake is what I call an "inline" meaning just one row of wheels, not in a V shape. You can make multiple passes to merge any width into one windrow but only having four is going to be tedious, and with each pass you are going to lose a small amount of the short stuff, it just disappears. You could get a rake with more wheels or a rollabar pretty cheaply and be happier.
Here is another thought, what if on your second pass with the swather, you eat the first windrow and end up with one 3' swath, may not be possible if the swather can not pick up the previous pass. | |
