Fort Collins, CO | I'm unaware of a common name for a volume profile that looks like that. Does it imply anything about price? Maybe, maybe not. To garner anything from that data, you'd have to know a lot more about who was trading it:
Was it one customer, a few, or a lot?
Speculators?
Hedgers?
Market-maker-on-market-maker violence?
Were they selling all of those options?
Buying them all?
Trading calls vs. puts?
Trading call spreads vs. put spreads?
Buying or selling iron condors?
What, if anything, are they trading it against or against it?
Are they good at guessing the future?
Long story short, I don't think you can gain much in the way of prediction from option volume alone on a given day. I wish I had a better answer for you, but that's the best I can give you. | |
