Yes, we have drilled beans and hoed and zapped. It did ok.

I don't think I'd push early planting though.

Last year my mid May beans did low 50s. My late May 7.5in beans did 54, 30in beans did 71.

Edit. just double checked and the 54bu drilled and 71bu planted were actually 2nd week of June.
