South Central MN | It may have changed since but in the past most lenders didn't really care about student loans being repaid, they just gave out the loans and figured they had someone trapped for life trying to repay them. Didn't help colleges were in on taking as much money from students as possible either.
Also is a difference if the loans are federal or private, private loans are through certain banks and they like to get their money back, while federal loans are easier to defer but still accrue interest and can grow to be a lot bigger than the amount originally borrowed. | |
