I have been over the land border multiple times and was not asked for "proof", they just verbally ask you. Now maybe if you say yes and they don't believe you they could ask for proof but they don't seem to really care. No idea how flights are different.
Does this not apply to trucking? Wasn't this the whole reason for the protest in Ottawa last year? Where is the support from the US to stop this now?
