South-central Nebraska
I feel like Deere tries to get us by the balls with their equipment and AMS. For a limited time you can upgrade to the GS2 and the Autotrac is free. They will give some trade value for the old GS1 but only for a limited time. Then we must buythe APEX software for GS2 and JD Office will have no customer support next year. I would be fine with this if the junk they sell would work. Seems like continual problems with our Autotrac working properly and the JD yield mapping, even with RTK is not as accurate as they claim. They think people will use the GS2 to replace other controllers such as a Raven, no way for me.

That is why I wondered if other companies products were better. Our local CaseIH/AGco dealer says the industry is moving towards using similar "language" CanBUS? Anyway, the one most often holding up things is John Deere, they want their system on their equipment period.
