Subject: RE: Advice on irrigating beans

central mich

It is very dry here on sandy ground and the beans needed a drink so 8/10s of an inch was applied on irrigated ground But only because of no rain for several weeks. On sandy ground without water the beans are flipped over in some areas . We are hoping for some needed rain next week. On heavier non irrigated ground the beans look supprisingly good. We mudded in the planting on this ground and now it is very hard. I have been putting the sprayer on manual just to spray the headlands.
Normally on irrigated water is not added until August.
I have a friend and he is always concerned about white mold but he plants in 15 in while we drill. We have only had a small amout of white mold in 20 years. All our seed is fully treated.
