I ran that area a couple times in the late 70's with a 290 Cummins and no jake brake.
Mid 80's I drove a 359 Pete with a Jake, but only had a governed 350 which wasn't much better increasing gross to 80K rather than the 73280 in the late 70's. Was a tiny bit better.
