| If your looking to potentially save on some N input costs for your corn next spring, I would recommend broadcasting double cut red clover and either killing it off and ripping it up this fall, or leaving it over the winter and terminating it in the spring. On our farm in Ontario we underseed our winter wheat with red clover and terminate it with roundup and 2-4D and our disk ripper in October. We find it leaves the soil nice and mellow and clover is a legume so it fixes nitrogen for next year's corn crop.
