Hate to break the news, but an auctioneer buying items at a live auction and then trying to resell them later is not a new thing. I think it probably happens more now because the big auctioneers have multiple consignment sites that they can haul the items to. Not much different than what the machinery jockeys have been doing for years. If they make money doing it then they'll keep doing it.
