Olwhda is correct. With the advancements in communications technology many companies, especially the larger ones, have gone the pre-pass route. The pre-pass unit will tell the scale house everything they need to know about the truck and what it is hauling. Never had that system when I was driving. When I got out it was just coming online. Although, the the last couple of years the company did get the pre-pass system for the NY toll roads. That helped.
