sc ks | I have a calf that due to big teats on cow trying to get started on a bottle... To my knowledge it never nursed on the cow. For the 1st number of days I milked the cow then she seemed to be drying up so decided to go to a bottle. This calf would suck on bottle for like 3 seconds then quit. I've got it to drink most of a bottle then it quit that also and back to tubing it. It does pee and poop so it's doesn't seem to be a plumbing issue...
Not sure if calf has mental issue or what. If I put bottle nipple in it's mouth it will like stick it's tongue out the side of it's mouth like it don't know what to do but it has sucked it just doesn't take off like a calf normally would... I have given it banamine for a number of days, tried energy and vitamin supplements.. I'm about at my wits end... Thought maybe someone that's experienced with bottle calves might have some ideas..... Normally I try to stay away from em... I'm trying to get this one started decent before selling it...
