I would check with a heavy duty truck repair shop. I am sure they make dummy shafts for the bigger clutches, like they do for the auto and light truck market. They are made out of plastic and have a loop on the back. Put everything together, tighten the bolts down and pull the shaft out. You may get lucky and could borrow an old input shaft from the local truck repair shop.
